PEOI, a provider of university level courses free of charge at www.peoi.org, seeks authors with a background in teaching or work experience, who would like to join a group of colleagues developing a course in engineering and numerous other courses in aerospace, civil, communication, electric, industrial, mechanical and nuclear engineering subjects, at both introductory and advanced or professional levels.

You are welcome to work on chapter text, cases, assignments, reading lists, summaries, class discussions and test questions, as well as research and add examples, statistics and citations. Experts in illustration, video and programming are also needed. PEOI's courses are subject to continuous updating and improvement with new research findings, and to additions of practices or regulations in various countries so that PEOI's courses are relevant to the largest possible audience.

All PEOI's course pages are in HTML. Authors will not be responsible for any HTML code, but only for the text in between, although some knowledge of HTML is helpful. Some content can be imported from open education resources, i.e. material that is not copyright restricted such as in courseware at major universities. You must have the skills to locate and import such material. Depending on your qualifications you may be called upon to grade assignments, monitor class discussions or answer student questions.

Help disadvantaged students and aspiring professionals improve their lives by giving them a university education, and contribute to economic development of the country in which they live. With lockdown of libraries and universities, and many universities moving their courses online at exorbitant prices, your teaching at PEOI is all the more important.

A volunteer's name will appear on all pages to which the volunteer has contributed. All volunteer work is recognized in PEOI's monthly newsletter. Upon completion of a significant portion of work, PEOI's certificate will be issued upon application. PEOI's students, authors and all other contributors are invited to share ideas in PEOI's forum as well as through PEOI's social media pages.

An advanced university degree is required. Relevant teaching in university or work experience is desirable, as well as adept computer skills since all work is done online. You must learn how to navigate PEOI's platform and master PEOI's online procedures. Once you've been selected, you must register at PEOI and enter your qualifications so that your skills and knowledge are visible to your colleagues. PEOI's courses are normally first written in English. Apply to this opportunity ONLY if you have studied these subjects in English, and core text authors must have a master's degree or equivalent.
