Prior to these donations, PEOI had existed with the assistance of John Petroff and his family in the form of volunteer work, supply of course material and payment for all PEOI out-of-pocket expenses. Over the three years of PEOI's formation, the amount thus contributed is estimated to exceed $1 million. To achieve its full potential PEOI cannot possibly rely on a few individuals and must receive public support.
