Board of Directors
- There is an immediate need for additional directors so that
the board of directors has the needed diversity and expertise.
Individuals who wish to become directors, should be able to offer
guidance in one or more of the following functions or purposes:
- - organizational mission formulation and supervision of its
implementation
- - relations with universities domestic and foreign, as well
as governmental educational bodies
- - relations with authors, securing copyrights and continuous
upgrading of content
- - relations with instructors and testing service providers
- - design of distance education courses, formulation of standards
and participating in accreditation effort
- - fund raising
- - identifying and understanding potential student needs in
industrialized countries
- - determinating of how to serve best potential students in
developing countries
- - improvement of software and web site design to serve widest
potential student population
- Please note that according to PEOI bylaws, directors serve
without compensation. Participation in board meeting decisions
is conducted in an online forum and by excange of email. Absence
from board meeting or failure to be active result in removal
from board. See bylaws for more details.

- As of March 2010, PEOI Board of Directors
has 13 members, but new applications
are welcome. Some board member have registered and appear in
the list of board
registered members.

- PEOI's online board meeting of November 2009 was conducted
based on an agenda
distributed in early March 2010, was completed on December 3
with a number of resolutions and the results of the meeting are
recorded in March 2010
meeting minutes. Board of Directors meetings
resolutions, agenda and minutes are posted for open discussion
and comments. New board members are invited to register as such,
to join one of the committees and to take part in online committee
discussions. Next online board meeting will take place in July
2010.

- Board forum
is available for open discussion of all issues pertinent to board
members. To participate in board forum, board members must be
registered. Board members are invited to register.
Nominations, suggestions and applications for director positions
are eagerly sought, and can be submitted to peoi@peoi.org
